Whether you’re newly pregnant or planning to conceive, early prenatal care is one of the best decisions you can make for your baby and yourself. At Women’s Health Associates of Boise, we provide comprehensive, compassionate care from preconception to postpartum.

Why Prenatal Care Matters

The first few weeks of pregnancy are critical for fetal development — even before many women know they’re pregnant. That’s why we encourage women to schedule a visit as soon as they suspect or confirm pregnancy.

Early prenatal care helps:

• Confirm your pregnancy and calculate your due date
• Screen for conditions like gestational diabetes or hypertension
• Monitor fetal development with ultrasounds and lab work
• Provide guidance on nutrition, prenatal vitamins, and activity
• Offer emotional and mental health support

What to Expect in Your First Visit

During your first appointment, we’ll review your medical and family history, perform a physical exam, and order initial labs. You’ll also get a chance to ask any questions — whether about morning sickness, medications, or lifestyle changes.

Ongoing Visits & Milestones

Most pregnancies include checkups every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly thereafter. Each visit includes monitoring your blood pressure, weight, fetal heartbeat, and any emerging concerns.

Support Beyond the Medical

We know pregnancy is more than just lab results. We support your emotional well-being, birth preferences, and the many decisions that come with motherhood.
