I was raised in Grand Forks, ND, a town of about 50,000 people. I am an only child and the only member of my family that chose medicine for a profession. I got my undergraduate degree in Medical Technology at UND which is in my home town. I was then able to still stay local and attend medical school at UND. After graduating from medical school I did a residency year of medicine in Fargo, ND. I then moved to Akron, OH where I did my 4 year Ob/Gyn residency. My first job out of residency was in a large Ob/Gyn practice in Richland WA. I was there for 4 years and then in September of 2005 I joined Women’s Health Associates in Boise. I have several hobbies, but the one I have spent the most time at is teaching aerobics. I started in 1989 and have taught ever since. I have taught almost every format available (including pre-natal aerobics) and foresee myself teaching the rest of my life. I also enjoy hiking with my dogs, camping, skiing, snowmobiling and mountain biking. I enjoy all aspects of the field of Ob/Gyn but have taken a special interest in delivering my own patients as often as I can. My ultimate goal as a physician is to help women live healthier and happier lives.
I was born and raised with my 3 sisters in Reno, Nevada. While earning my B.S. in Biochemistry I got a job as an EMT transporting patients at a local hospital. It was eye opening and fascinating! I graduated from the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology in Las Vegas.
My desire to raise a family in a friendly community and my husband’s love of the outdoors brought us to the Gem State. I have been practicing in the Treasure Valley since 2011.
Whether we’re addressing periods, birth control, sex, pregnancy, or menopause my goal is to provide a comfortable, nonindimidating environment where we work together to meet your healthcare goals.
I enjoy baking, reminiscing over old photos, and ditching housework to go tubing with my husband and 2 kids.

Hello,
I am excited to be a part of Women’s Health Associates and to care for the women of Boise.
Prior to joining WHA, I provided care in Dubuque, Iowa. My residency training was done through Cleveland Clinic – Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio and I attended medical school in Colorado at Rocky Vista University College of Medicine. My undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry is from Carroll College in Helena, MT. I am passionate about all aspects of women’s health and provide a full spectrum of obstetric and gynecologic care. I especially enjoy pregnancy care, adolescent gynecology, contraception education, and robotic minimally invasive surgery. I love to attend the deliveries of my own patients whenever possible, and will always make an effort to do so. I think educating my patients on their own health conditions is the most important part of being a physician – please ask me your questions!
Before all of that, I grew up in South Dakota and Montana. I love the Rocky Mountain west and being outdoors with my husband, children, and dogs. I enjoy yoga, mochas, fantasy fiction, and cooking. Thai food is my favorite. I want to learn Spanish and travel the world. I hope to see you soon!
Kelly McGuire, D.O.
